It’s not a good thing to browse your phone close to bedtime. The light produced by the phone sends a signal to your brain that it’s still early. You shouldn’t sleep yet. It messes up your mind and makes it difficult for you to fall asleep. Therefore, if possible, you need to try ditching your phone as you’re about to sleep. These are the things you might want to do instead of browsing content.

Read a book
It’s an excellent idea to read a book. You will learn a lot from doing it. You can also relax as you allow your mind to go elsewhere based on what you’re reading. The best part is that reading a book helps you fall asleep quickly. You can read a few pages until you start to feel sleepy.

Write a journal
Instead of chatting with people, you can write a journal. Express how you feel through a journal. It helps you relax. It also makes you remember the things that happened to you. After many years, you can look back at your journal and laugh at your experiences.

Meditate
It also helps to meditate. You can free your mind of negative things. You feel good about yourself, and you connect with your environment. You will also find it easy to fall asleep when your brain is already in that mode. You can play soothing music in the background.

Plan what to do the next day
You might also want to start to plan the following day. You can think about your pending tasks and other projects you need to finish. The goal is to remember these things so you won’t panic as the deadline approaches. There are times when you want to do specific tasks, but you forget them. Writing them down before bedtime allows you to remember every detail.

Think about what you’re grateful for
You need to end your day on a positive note. Therefore, it helps if you think about all the good things that happened to you during the day. You will then find it easy to fall asleep. You will also be in a good mood the next day. Make it a habit to end your day this way.
